Ever wish you could try something before jumping in with both feet?
My family began its adventure with marching band 10 years ago. My oldest was taking private flute lessons and pretty bored with it all, and I was looking for a way to make learning music more fun and interesting. Though I have loved music and singing all my life, I was never in band and didn't know what I was getting into. We joined a brand new marching band at a small Christian school in Alabama, and she loved it! Very quickly, my husband was drafted to drive the bus, and I helped serve concessions and work at fundraisers. It was a big commitment, and a lot of work. But, my daughter's interest in music soared! She loved her new friends, and she worked hard to learn her parts and carry her weight for the "team." She was hooked, and so were we. When our family was relocated to Georgia, one of our top priorities was to find a marching band. All four of our girls have participated and loved the experience of building friendships, learning to be leaders, and working hard along with their teammates to create an excellent show.
Marching band is amazing! The Marching Eagles are unique among marching bands because our cost is lower, the time commitment is less, and we welcome students from all educational backgrounds. But, if you have never been a part of a marching band, and you're not sure if it will be a good fit for your child or your family, we want to give you the opportunity to try it out. Your child will have 8 practices--7 on Thursday evenings from 7:30-9, and one the Friday before the parade. They will receive a Marching Eagles t-shirt, and get to march in the Big Shanty Parade in Kennesaw on April 18. It will give them the chance to learn to march and play (more difficult than it may seem), make friends, and see if they enjoy it. It is a positive, encouraging environment. And, even if you decide marching band isn't for you, your child will enjoy a new experience, and you will get to cheer them on at a parade. It only costs $20. You really can't beat that.
So, go to the "classes" tab and click "registration." Then click on "Spring Marching." Hope to see you soon!
